Gymnasio Archangelou Lakatameias
Archangelos High School started its operation in September 1994 with 350 students.
It was built on an area of land granted for this purpose by the Holy Monastery of Kykkos. It was inaugurated in May 1995 by the then President of the Republic of Cyprus, Mr. Glafkos Clerides. It took its name from the area in which it was built, the area of Archangelos, which in turn owes its name to the Monastery of the same name that belongs to the Holy Monastery of Kykkos and which with the Church of Archangelos, the Study Center and the Ceremonial Hall is a spiritual center, not only of the Municipality of Lakatamia but also of the wider region.
The School is adjacent to the river Pediaios and the lake of Maglis, two important habitats of the area, as well as to the Linear Park of Koiti Pediaiou, with the Pedestrian Path and the Bicycle Path which are a real jewel of the area.
Today, more than 400 students study at the school and around 65 teachers work there, while from this year it becomes a Steam school.
